Flu Season 2012 Casselberry Physicians Group

Published January 30, 2013

It’s that time of year again.  Flu season is heading our way.  The Flu vaccine has begun shipping for the 2012-2013 flu season.  You can get your shot  administered by Casselberry Physicians Group.

Here’s some quick facts about the Flu Shot…….

Everyone 6 months and older should get a flu vaccine.  It is especially important for some groups of people to get vaccinated.  Those include: People with certain medical conditions like Asthma, Diabetes, and Chronic Lung Disease; Pregnant women, and people aged 65 and older.  People who live with or care for seniors or others with certain medical conditions are at a higher risk of developing complications and should get the flu shot too.

For more information on people who are at a high risk of developing Flu-related complications, click here.

Flu season begins in October and usually can last through May.  You should get your flu shot before flu season starts.  It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against the flu.

For more detailed information about Flu season and the Flu Shot, please visit the Center For Disease Control website by clicking here.
